For your Anguilla Gourmet Getaway, choose one of Anguilla's premier luxury hotel or villa resorts with their outstanding, world renowned cuisine presentations brought to you by an inspiring blend of world-famous international and local, award winning chefs (check our Rate Guide for their website links and read about exceptional culinary accomplishments and offerings). Or, opt to stay in one of our budget-wise extraordinary but inexpensive properties while you explore the island in search of your 'fantasy' feast. A third choice? Linger in one of our many self-catered villas or apartments available in all price ranges while you enjoy the luxury of dining pampered by your private chef, one night or each night. Anguilla sets the scene, the rest is up to you!

Known as 'the cuisine capital of the Caribbean,' Anguilla's extraordinary dining scene offers discerning travelers a robust variety of gastronomic diversions with more than 70 dining experiences ranging from elegant, intimate gourmet seaside restaurants to casually chic beachfront bistros and festive, affordable roadside grills.

Whether the dining table is candlelit or canopied by a colorful beach umbrella, Anguilla's sumptuous fare is prepared by renowned chefs from around the world, and award-winning local chefs, who create the eclectic flavor of the island's cuisine. Island chefs are revered in publications such as Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and The New York Times.

Choices range from Caribbean to French, Mediterranean to Continental, Creole to Italian and American to Indo-Chinese. Given the abundance of fresh seafood, there are plenty of options for creative cookery and more choices, with most menus offering some variation of the delectable local lobster or its smaller, sweeter cousin - crayfish.

Sommeliers present yet another choice for our visitors, since most hotels and restaurants keep a large and carefully selected wine stock on hand. Anguilla is home to two of the region's largest wine cellars, located at Malliouhana Hotel & Spa and Koal Keel Restaurant. Malliouhana, winner of Wine Spectator's Grand Award, houses over 25,000 bottles of wine. Seventeen feet below ground is Le Dome, KoalKeel's wine cellar, which holds over 35,000 bottles.

Of course, there's always the age-old, tempting choice accompanying some palette-pleasing fish, chicken and rib extravaganzas - Mrs. Rowena Carty's hot or mildly hot Rockfield Pepper Sauce?

And yet another choice - well over half of Anguilla's properties are self-catered villas, apartments or offer full kitchens en suite. Guests can choose to cook for themselves, or, in most cases, chefs can be brought in for a very affordable rate (often less than a night out).
