Anguilla and the Arts
The Art Galleries of Anguilla

Splendor On & Off the Beach

Anguilla is home to a veritable colony of artists who have come from many parts of the world to join Anguilla's noted local artists in the pursuit of their creative muse. The diverse art forms include pottery, sculpture, handcrafts, paintings and woodcraft. There is also a growing collection of tribal artifacts, textiles, antiques, carvings and furniture from many exotic destinations, in the Caribbean and beyond, which can be found in art galleries and studios around the island.

A self-guided "Art Tour of Anguilla" brochure, available through the Anguilla Tourist Board, takes visitors to 15 galleries and studios across the island. Click here for a sampling of Gallery tours.

The next biennial Anguilla International Arts Festival will take place in December 2007. Painters from around the world are invited to compete for prizes and the chance to have their work displayed on an Anguillian postage stamp.

This festival is expected to feature artist workshops, sidewalk shows and sales, exhibitions and critiques.Details of registration will be forthcoming.

The Anguilla International Arts Festival, which began in 1997, is the brainchild of Courtney Devonish. Devonish also owns Devonish Galleries on Anguilla which features the paintings, sculptures, pottery and jewelry of Caribbean as well as international artists.
