Anguilla’s calm and family-friendly ambience includes uncrowded beaches, a relaxing pace and peaceful environment where parents and children choose from a host of water and land activities. Snorkeling, diving, fishing, boating, horseback riding, biking, picnic lunches on deserted cays, windsurfing, kayaking, glass bottom boat rides, swimming with and learning about dolphins at Dolphin Fantaseas, daytime cruises, art gallery and museum hopping, historical and island tours make the list of family favorites. Anguilla Great House, on Rendezvous Bay beach offers families two plans, effective May 1 - November 15: 7 nights for the price of 5 with up to two children under 12 sharing the room for free. For parents who desire privacy, the resort offers a second room at a 50% discount with a 7 night minimum stay (two children minimum). Daily rates are $140 garden double; $170 ocean view double in summer season, plus 10% tax and service charge. Arawak Beach Inn
Island Harbour’s Arawak Beach Inn offers a free stay for children under 12 in their parents' room or 50 percent off the price of the second room. All rooms are oceanfront and include balcony or terrace, refrigerator and ceiling fans. The Inn’s family style
restaurant features continental and West Indian menu and a special ‘family pizza’. From April 7 to June 1, daily rates start at $135; from June 2 to October 31, rates start at $95 (plus 10% tax and service charge). Blue Waters Beach Apartments
Located on the powder-soft, white sands of Shoal Bay West beach family-friendly Blue Waters' apartments are each equipped with a full kitchen. Carimar Beach Club
Located near some of Anguilla’s finest restaurants and at the water's edge on Meads Bay beach, Carimar Beach Club's vacationing families choose from a host of activities, including numerous watersports. From May 1 to August 31, 2003 friends and family booking a minimum five-night stay in an air-conditioned, ocean view double with covered terrace can have a second ocean view double for at no charge. Daily double rates begin at $495 from May 1-May 31; and $345 from June 1-August 31 (plus 10% tax and service charge). The hotel includes a welcome greeting at airport or ferry; daytime cruise to a deserted bay, use of recreational facilities and equipment including watersports, snorkeling gear, fitness center, basketball court, fresh-water pools, outdoor jacuzzi. This luxurious three-bedroom villa offers a very private retreat for families seeking a much-needed getaway. From April 15 to December 14, a weeklong stay is $1500, plus 10% tax and service charge.
