Government Of Anguilla Announces
Plans For Island’s First Golf Course Facility

-- Development to Include 18-Hole Course, Club House,
50 Fractional Club Residences, Spa Facility and Five-Star Hotel -

The Government of Anguilla has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for the development of a $250-million golf course facility at Rendezvous Bay West.

Under the signed Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of Anguilla, Project Owner, Robert Sillerman, and President of Flag Luxury Properties, LLC, Jonathan Stern, the development will comprise a world-class championship 18-hole golf course, a club house and related facilities, up to 50 residential estate lots, up to 50 fractional 'club' residences, a spa facility and an 80-140 room five-star hotel. The first phase of the project, the construction of the Hotel facilities and Golf Course, is expected to begin in October 2002 with completion projected for the year 2005.

According to Anguilla's Chief Minister, The Honorable Osbourne B. Fleming, "The availability of golfing facilities will increase the appeal of Anguilla for key segments of the market - those interested in small meetings, incentives and group travel. Other benefits to the island are expected in the form of construction activity, job creation within the facility, increased arrivals, longer stay over periods, and pertinent government revenue. This is indeed a ‘win-win’ for everyone involved, especially the people of Anguilla.”
