L’histoire, l’héritage et la culture d’Anguilla sont régulièrement d’actualité sur notre île. Le calendrier est presque toujours plein d’événements culturels, de fêtes, de représentations et de compétitions.
C’est le Festival d’été qui offre la démonstration la plus spectaculaire de la culture locale. Il s’ouvre un lundi du mois d’août à 5h du matin sur le J’ Over Mornin’, parade musicale de rue qui commence à l’aube pour célébrer l’émancipation de l’île. S’ensuivent près de deux semaines de festivités, de danses, de compétitions, de foires et de parades qui viennent colorer les soirées. Pendant le jour, comme pour presque toutes les grandes fêtes anguillaises, l’île est animée par les pic-nics de plage et les courses de bateau, sport national de l’île.
2009 Calendar of Events
St. Gerard’s Garden Party has become a standard celebration for all of Anguilla to enjoy. The festival features a traditional West Caribbean dinner, entertainment and dancing.
Celebrate the beauty of Anguilla and enjoy fresh flower arrangements, indigenous plant arrangements, creative arrangements including driftwood, flowering and foliage plants in containers, miniature arrangements, miniature gardens, hanging baskets, a display of orchids, needlework with floral décor, and the school art display.
Island icon Bankie Banx curates and hosts the 19th annual Moonsplash Festival at the Dune Preserve Beach Club. The festival will feature internationally recognized reggae artists, jazz greats and a range of other premier performers. The festival kicks off with a cocktail party and includes two nights of seaside concerts overlooking Rendezvous Bay. The festival comes to a celebratory close with a beach party that is open to the public and features local foods, crafts and music.
Dune Preserve Beach Club is located on Rendezvous Bay.
On April 11 and 12th, Anguilla hosts the Festival Del Mar on picturesque Island Harbor beach. A celebration of the sea, the festival includes deep sea fishing contests, boat races, triathlons, culinary competitions, string band music, and a range of other activities.
Hosted by the Anguilla Sailing Association (ASA) and the Anguilla Tourist Board, the Annual Anguilla Yacht Regatta attracts sailors from across the Caribbean and around the world. A number of races will be held, and the event culminates with a post-race reception.
The entire island comes out to celebrate and commemorate Anguilla’s independence. This all day festival commences with a street jam and includes a number of performances and presentations.
Celebrate the beauty of Anguillians at the Miss Venus Swimsuit Competition.
Anguillian cyclists compete with others from throughout the Caribbean on a challenging course that winds its way across our island. The route begins in the Valley before going East to Sandy Hill roundabout, it continues to the West End, then on the way back, loops through Sandy Ground before returning to the East. Male cyclists perform three laps and female participants complete two laps.
To celebrate the fifth year of runway excursions, this year’s Panache Couture Fashion Week will showcase and embrace varying elements of fashion during this three day event. Anguillian fashion designer, Charla Connor, will showcase her elegant designs.

Anguilla comes alive with 11 days of fun, food, and boat racing. The Anguilla Summer Festival features musical performances, cultural and kids parades and a number of pageants and competitions.
Once a year the normally serene and languid island of Anguilla bursts onto the scene as a paragon of culture and music as the Tranquility Jazz Festival takes hold of the entire island to embrace the local population and visitors alike.
The Tranquility Jazz Festival, now in its seventh year, provides a unique opportunity to see Anguilla in all its glory while providing an opportunity for local jazz aficionados to take up the mantle as ambassadors for the exquisite island state.
This year’s Festival is the continuation of a tradition of excellence and includes renowned artists Ahmad Jamal, Dianne Reeves, Rachelle Ferrell, Elio Villafranca, British Dependency, and Jaine Rogers.
