In a recent survey by Modern Bride, the United State's top travel agents stated that Anguilla was one of the best honeymoon destinations of the world. Anguilla's natural setting remains pristine, with its lobster pots, brightly painted fishing and sailing boats and uncrowded powder-white beaches, but in recent years the island has become the place to vacation for cosmopolitan jet setters.
Described by travel agents as "one of the Caribbean's most sophisticated destinations," Anguilla's renowned upscale resorts and array of eclectic restaurants marry well with the crime-free, friendly atmosphere of colorful local bistros and hangouts.
Travel agents recommend that couples "go for the glow" in the water with a snorkel, on a sailboat or at an offshore islet. Of specific mention was Scilly Cay, an tiny paradise at the mouth of Island Harbour. Visitors get there by waving for a small boat from the fishing pier. Some of the island's best lobster accompanied by mellow music, a quaint beach and thatched canopies make an afternoon at Scilly Cay a "must do."
