SUMMER FESTIVAL
The Valley, Anguilla - The island of Anguilla celebrates its 26th Annual Summer Festival the first week in August. Nearly a fortnight of celebrations begin on Thursday, August 3rd, with a fireworks display in Carnival Village, located at the National Cultural and Arts Center Lanbsom Bowl.

The Summer Festival is filled with dancing, music, pageants, parades, contests and much more. Visitors can sample some traditional Anguillian dishes like goat soup, cassava and mauby at the Food and Agricultural Fair. Children can enjoy face painting, games, horse racing, arts and crafts at Kids n' Karnival and everyone enjoys the rhythms of the many calypso competitions.

Anguilla's Summer Festival will once again coincide with Anguilla's National Boat Racing Week, a tradition for nearly fifty years. As Anguilla's national sport, boat racing attracts fans to the start and finishing beaches for barbecues, cheering and fun.

Summer Festival is a great time for visitors to join in with an island community known for its welcoming people. With hotel and airfare specials, as well as plenty of activities, August is a great time for the whole family to visit this friendly island.
