Sites & Tours

From one end of our island to the other there is an abundance of historic architecture, cultural landmarks and preserved natural places awaiting your discovery.

These sites can often be encountered during normal travels, however, some are more off the beaten path than others. Maps are available through most properties and the Anguilla Tourist Board.

Cultural Sites

Heritage Collection Museum

Located in the East End next to the Bird Sanctuary, the Heritage Collection Museum is a display of some of the island’s most important documents, photographs, letters and other items. This unique collection spans our island’s entire history, and contains artifacts from Arawak Indians, present-day political campaign materials and all things in-between. The Museum’s curator, Colville Petty OBE, is an authority on Anguilla’s history.

The Manse Building

In the early 1900’s the ‘Manse’ was a three-gabled house owned by an Anguillian planter and businessman. In 1910, the house was sold to the Methodist Church and remained the residence of the Reverend and family until 1962, when a new Manse was built. Today, the building has been remarkably restored and is home to two art galleries and a unique Caribbean gift shop.

Turtle Nesting

From the months of April through November, many of our island’s beaches become nesting grounds for Leatherback, Green, and Hawksbill turtles. The best beaches for possible sightings of these wonderful creatures are Maundays Bay, Mead’s Bay, Captain’s Bay and Limestone Bay.
